A choice theory exercise
Is What You're Doing Getting You What You Want?
That question is the beating heart of choice theory, and it is harder to answer honestly than it looks. This exercise takes one situation in your life that keeps going badly and breaks it into the four parts of what Glasser called total behavior: what you are doing, what you are thinking, what you are feeling, and what your body is doing.
Then comes the honest evaluation, and a plan that uses the only two parts you can directly control. This is one of the most assigned exercises in reality therapy for a reason: it works.
